Yoga
Yoga
Yoga to stretch and soothe the mind and body. Yoga aims to achieve a balance between the body and the mind, as well as attempting to free the more subtle spiritual elements of the mind through physical poses or asanas, breathing techniques or pranayama and meditation.
Yoga allows you to focus purely on yourself, forgetting all of your outside issues. By breathing slowly and deeply, relaxing any tense muscles. By using the asanas (poses) to stretch and counter stretch – loosening, toning and lengthening your muscles; balancing out your body; becoming more graceful and fluid in all of your movements, even your day to day activities. Creating a mind/body connection, helping you to further understand your mind and body, becoming more aware of yourself.
Using the relaxation at the end of the sessions to absorb the benefits of the asanas, totally relaxing the body and mind. Leaving the practice feeling chilled-out, with increased flexibility and more in tune with yourself.
Yoga can provide great stretching for those of you who are cyclists or runners. It can help stretch out those tight hamstrings and chests and help re-align your body and mind.
There are modifications for the poses & exercises, so whether this is your first class or you have been practising for years, you will be able to work to a level that is suitable for you. As you progress through the class, there will be an emphasis on alignment and breathing, allowing you to stretch, move and focus on yourself.

Freestyle Fitness Yoga
Freestyle Fitness Yoga is a Yoga-based workout taught from a Fitness Perspective. We simply take some of the postures from yoga and use them as stretches. Adding in strength and conditioning work too.
In FFY you are encouraged to take control of your workout in order that each individual; the strongest, the weakest, the most supple, the inflexible, gets the maximum out of their practice.
